On The Ground Update
Super Typhoon Rai (“Odette”) made landfall on Thursday, Dec. 13 at 1:30 p.m. local time and the storm was one of the strongest recorded on Earth this year and sixth to reach category 5. Tragically the loss of life exceeds 400* and will continue to rise in the coming days.
Odette caused significant damage currently estimated at USD 800m* but as communications have not yet been fully restored this will rise.
